This is an operational role that manages a functional area to build high performance team. Will be responsible for recruiting, developing and retaining team members. Accountable for ensuring the development of quality deliverables or delivery of quality services that meet client needs and expectations within a specified time and budget. Responsible for developing new or modifying current approaches to significantly improve the quality and delivery of services across the organization while simultaneously reducing or meeting budget expectations. Also responsible for developing capacity plans in line with current and anticipated business needs, economic model and strategy.

The Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) is Capgemini’s global platform for Innovation. It is comprised of a network of eleven physical Exchanges around the world, with the flagship in San Francisco. As AIE Technical Director you will serve as the senior technical leader for the team. The Director will have a very strong command of emerging digital technologies, modern architecture, software development methods, scoping and delivering prototypes/MVPs. Primary Responsibilities

As the Technical Director, you will be a member of the AIE team serving as the teams senior technical leader.The existing team has extensive experience in Innovation, Strategy, Operations, Ecosystem / Open Innovation – and the Technical Director will bring deep technical and development expertise to the table.

The Director will have a very strong command of emerging digital technologies, modern architecture, software development methods, scoping and delivering prototypes/MVPs. While you are strong technically, nerds welcome, you must also have good business acumen and communication skills as you will be proficient at leading conversations with the CDO/CTO/CIO level of an organization, and inspiring clear ideas and actions. You thrive in customer and partner facing situations, and are adept at evangelizing, educating, and advising on technology, modern architectures and development mythologies.

The AIE Technical Director will work with clients and Capgemini delivery teams to effectively scope, resource, and delivery innovation prototypes assuring high quality outcomes. This will often include partnering or working with ‘startups’ firms as part of the team delivering the solution. You know how to build – leveraging the latest methods and tools. You are proficient at managing customer expectations and demand high quality outcomes.

As Technical Director are a community builder - working with the network of AIE’s around the world to help advance a community of practice and establish offerings, practices and thought leadership. Engaging Capgemini’s talent, partner ecosystem, and clients with passion to make complex subject accessible and engaging.

We will look to you to:

• Help represent AIE and Capgemini within the Bay Area

• Scan, track, and apply global technology trends, synthesizing for AIE’s needs

• Lead technical subject matter relating to AIE client workshops

• Inspire clients, partners, and Capgemini talent with vision and thought leadership on emerging technologies / development methods and their application

• Coordinate the development of prototyping work with the AIE Delivery leadership

• Support the development of AIE products / offerings

• Curate and manage the deployment of the AIE demonstration and showcases

• Participate as part of a network of Technical Directors in the Global AIE network

• Engage with the Capgemini CTO Network and Architect community to drive engagement

• Publish thought leadership

Education and Experience

• BS degree in Computer Science or related degree

• Experience in the Bay Area is preferred
