Job Title: Cassandra Tech lead/Architect

Position Type: Permanent/Fulltime

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Overview: We are looking for a hands-on Cassandra Tech lead/Architect in Riverwoods, IL


  • Over 10 years of experience in Information Technology with a strong back ground in Cassandra (NoSQL/Big Data), DB Design, and administration.

  • 5+ Years of experience in physical design, planning, administration and performance tuning in Apache and DSE Cassandra, AWS, and Hadoop.

  • Must have STRONG HANDS ON Experience in Hadoop and NoSQL.

  • The ability to develop components/subsystems of a multi-server cloud-based system, optimize and refactor existing architecture, manage projects from inception to execution.

  • Must have experience in monitoring, performance tuning and managing Cassandra cluster.

  • In depth knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra/no SQL database systems

Skill, Experience & General information required:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cassandra, CQL, data modeling, data replication, clustering, indexing for handling for large data sets.

  • Expertise in managing Cassandra Cluster has Cassandra Admin using DataStax Enterprise Edition (preferred).

  • Strong experience with at least one programming language like Java, Python, Scala.

  • Experience working with distributed systems, clustering, and replication technologies.

  • Well versed with development toolkits like Maven, GIT, Continues Integration suites, automated deployments, JIRA, Wiki.

  • Working with solution architect & business analysts to define implementation design & coding of the assigned modules/responsibilities with highest quality (bug free).

  • Determining technical approaches to be used, and defining the appropriate methodologies

  • Must be capable of working in a collaborative, multi-site environment to support rapid development and delivery of results and capabilities (i.e. AGILE SDLC)

  • Effectively communicating technical analyses, recommendations, status, and results to project management team.

Must Haves

  • Java/J2EE

  • Cloud Native development skills – specifically on PCF

  • Cassandra

  • Micro-services architecture

  • Unix

  • Spring Boot

Desirable Skills:

  • Cassandra Certification is highly preferred Nice to Have

  • Financial services experience is a plus.
